As the leader of our Australian Finance Team, you will be responsible in steering the function strategically while offering daily coaching and guidance to our talented and high-performing finance team. With a close-knit team of 23 in Australia, and as part of a global brand, we are looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to help others, thrives in a hands-on environment and is eager to contribute to our culture, business goals and strategic objectives.

Essential Functions

Accounting, Taxation & Audit

  • Lead daily operations of accounting and finance functions.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
  • Apply US GAAP and Australian accounting standards.
  • Manage cash balances, cash flows, and bi-annual dividends.
  • Oversee external banking relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations and coordinate with external accounting firms.
  • Lead internal and external audits.
  • Lead and responsible for payroll function. 

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Evaluate and report company results; provide insights to senior leadership.
  • Provide detailed analysis on key business drivers
  • Lead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process
  • Analyze financial impact of initiatives and support capital asset requests.
  • Educate and train departments to increase financial acumen.

Risk, Compliance & Insurance

  • Ensure compliance with global, local, and statutory requirements.
  • Lead risk compliance and mitigation reviews.
  • Manage local insurance cover and related events

Leadership

  • Leadership provide strategic leadership of the Finance function within the Australian business.
  • Leadership providing ongoing coaching and guidance to Finance team members for their own personal goals and development. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Mathematics
  • Experience within the finance and accounting functions of a FMCG business 
  • Financial Analysis experience 
  • Experience with ERP implementation useful
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
